Senior Legal Director and Global Co-Head of Sustainable Finance & Investment, Hogan Lovells

Sukhvir Basran has played an instrumental role in establishing and leading the Hogan Lovells Global Sustainable Finance & Investment Group, which launched in 2019. Combining her substantial experience in cross-border leveraged finance, sustainable finance and social enterprise work, Sukhvir advises clients on incorporating innovative financing and investment structures anchored in impact outcomes into mainstream transactions.

Sukhvir also plays an active role in the development of the sustainable financing sector and her work extends beyond the purely legal. She has created and implemented a range of innovative sustainable finance products, road-maps and toolkits aimed at supporting clients throughout their sustainability journey and also contributing to the development of an efficient sustainable finance eco-system.

As well as innovation, her goal is to create strong partnerships and collaborations across the sector to develop unique financial solutions to overcome the challenges facing the impact economy. She works with ELFA, LMA, Gender Smart and has launched Aurora: The Gender Lens Project with the 2X Challenge. Sukhvir is co-chair of the GenderSmart Justice, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) Steering Committee, a member of HL Social Enterprise Board and is a core member of the firm’s ESG practice.
